Kenny Strope has worked in the capacity of project engineer, general superintendent and project manager.

Kenny joined BlueScope Construction as a general superintendent working on million square foot distribution centers. He developed our Erection Services group and became the first Manager of BlueScope Building Erection Services. Kenny was promoted to Field Operations Manager with responsibility for all superintendents, job clerks, and other on-site personnel.

Kenny’s next appointment was to the newly created position of Manager of Construction Services. Kenny became more involved in pre-construction and business development opportunities in this position. He was promoted to Vice President of Construction Services with the additional responsibility for all project managers, schedulers, and quality service operations. His current position is Senior Vice President of Construction and Engineering, where he took on the additional responsibility of the structural engineering group, safety operations, and WL Concrete. In this capacity, Kenny oversees over 70% of the BlueScope Construction staff. He is an Officer of the Corporation.

Kenny has helped develop many of the procedures used by BSC on the construction side of projects. Kenny is a leading developer of the safety practices at BlueScope Construction. His “good catch” program has been utilized throughout the BlueScope Buildings organization. He has been a strong advocate for the “I see it, I own it, I fix it” mindset of our field operations. Kenny firmly believes all accidents are preventable and works tirelessly to improve the safety on all BlueScope Construction projects.
