OUR GOAL IS ZERO HARM

Protecting our employees, subcontractors, and partners has always been our top priority. Whether you are on a job site or in an office, your safety matters to us. Following in the footsteps of our parent company, BlueScope, we are a leader in supporting a culture of safety and Zero Harm. We have a comprehensive company-wide Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Its purpose is to ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers, contractors, visitors, and the public. At BlueScope Construction, each meeting begins with a safety contact and each morning on the job site begins with a safety meeting. We also have a dedicated, cross-functional safety committee that meets regularly.

A SAFETY RECORD THAT EXCEEDS INDUSTRY STANDARDS

Our robust safety system affords us with industry-leading safety metrics, making us a favorite partner among owners, other general contractors, and subcontractors.

We believe jobsite hazards can be reduced with careful and intentional design, detailing, fabrication, and delivery.

Every detail matters when it comes to safety. A misplaced hole in a structural member, whether it is caused by manufacturing or detailing, can cause field work that creates an additional, unnecessary hazard. Material shortages can force the erector to work around the missing parts and require them to return later to fix it, leaving room for risks. Careful planning and attention to detail, like reducing double handling of a product on a job site, reduces the chances for harm. We consider safety implications every time we design and deliver a structure and strive to limit the dangers of construction for the field crews.

WORKING SAFELY IS AT OUR CORE

Innovative Safety Ideas

OSHA states that one of our developments, the Sky-Web® Fall Protection and Insulation Support System, would “eliminate the fall hazard at the leading edge of the roof on a partially completed metal building roof system” when properly installed. Job site protections are so important to us, we offer a version of our system to other contractors to improve safety.
